About the Recipe:
This recipe makes a very good snack coz it is pretty easy to make. Another great advantage would be that we generally do not use the entire bread loaf before the expiry date approaches. This recipe would be of great help for those who do not want to waste and eat a different variety of snack.
Ingredients:
1.Bread slices.
2.Onions
3.Potatoes(Aloo)
4.Green chilli
5.Red chilli
6.Mustard seeds
7.Cumin Seeds
8.Chana Dal
9.Urad Dal
10. Chopped garlic
11.Ginger
12. Curry leaves
13. Coriander leaves
14. Asafoetida
15. Garam Masala
16. Chilli powder
Preparation:
1. Take oil in a non stick pan and wait till it is heated. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, asafoetida and curry leaves(seasoning items). Then later add finely chopped ginger and garlic. Add red chilies and green chilies and add salt to it so that the spiciness is reduced.
2. Add finely chopped onions and stir until they turn golden yellow.
3. Now add cut potatoes to the mixture. Let the potatoes fry till they become soft. Note that they should neither be too crispy nor too soft. This will spoil the snack.
4. You can even add other vegetables to the mixture like chopped carrot, bell peppers, peas etc.
5. Now add cut bread crumbs to the contents of the pan and let it fry on low flame for 5 mins.
6. Add red chili powder and garam masala to get the flavor.
7. Add lemon juice if you like the taste and finally garnish it with coriander leaves.
