Tepala Chekkalu

Tapala chekka is an authentic snack which does not require too many ingredients to make. Very easy to make and tasty also but takes quite some to prepare.
Ingredients:
1. Rice flour
2. Green chilies
3. Chana dal
4. Onions (thin slices)

5.Cumin seeds
Preparation:
1. Take rice flour may be one and half cup. Make it into dough by adding hot water.Boil water for some time by adding salt.Hot water is preferred compared to room temperature water because it increases the flavour and consistancy of tapala chekkalu.
2. Add green chilies(paste would be better if not that’s fine), onions, salt , cumin seeds and chana dal to the mixture.
3. Check for the consistency.

4. Now take a small quantity of dough on a plastic sheet, spread it evenly. Make holes in between the dough mixture so that it can fry evenly on the pan. Meanwhile heat the pan.
5. Now take this spread and put it on the pan. Add oil and let it fry for 5 min in low flame so that it won’t get burnt. Turn upside down and let it fry.
6. You can add curry leaves and coriander leaves also to the mixture initially if u like the taste (tastes good though).
7. That’s it and you have hot hot snack ready to eat. It tastes yummy and crispy if you make the spread thin.
